Leadership is not a title, it’s a behavior. Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to work on themselves, grow, and use this to empower others. And this comes from within. A leader is constantly growing, learning, and developing oneself.
You may have heard people say “you can’t pour from an empty cup.” Well in a leadership sense, the tools you need to share as a leader (your sense of empowerment, motivation, communication, and building others up) need to start with YOU. Your sense of self, your values, your priorities— these all need to be establishing within you so you can pour from this pitcher of your positive influence into the cups of those around you in your leadership position.
Personal growth and development never ends, this process is a life journey, but the decision to embark on it must come from within. So take the first steps, learn about yourself, learn about what you want out of life. And then go get it. It’s that easy.
